ASTER Apple Screen Time ExploreR · iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS · Python, MIT licence · with Marijn Martens A procedure and tool for collecting Apple Screen Time data for research. Participants donate the system files their Mac uses to build Screen Time, which also hold the synced, anonymised usage of the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch linked to the same Apple ID. The tool turns these files into a usable dataset (e.g. JSON) with granular app-usage data, without custom apps or complicated infrastructure. It requires the user to have a Mac and covers the previous four weeks. Paper · Code
